This regional conference was organized by the European Bureau of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Geological Survey of America (GSA) with the organizational support of the Czech Geological Survey (CGS) and was held at the Prague Convention Center on October 10 - 13 this year.

“Regional geology and hydrocarbon systems of European and Russian basins: search for Priority Areas”. This was the motto of an event that was held at a high scientific, organizational and representative level.

Ukrainian Association of Geologists was also represented at the conference. Four Ukrainian researchers from Ukrainian Association of Geologists, State Institution "Scientific center for aerospace research of the Earth of the Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" (CASRE) and Subsidiary Company "Oil and Gas Industry Research Institute" delivered their reports.

The conference featured 215 presentations, both oral and stand, in 9 scientific sessions. The number of speakers and participants was about 400. Since the conference had a research format, it was not accompanied by an industrial exhibition, although the sponsoring companies were present. The geography of the reports was quite wide. The scientists from almost all countries of Western and Central Europe, as well as the USA, Canada, China, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Japan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, and others presented their results.
