On October 21, 2004, Ukrgazvydobuvannya hosted a presentation of a joint project of the service company CJSC UkrPromGeofizika, Nadra Group and the manufacturer of geophysical equipment, the English company Sondex.

At the end of October, the Ukrainian State Geological Exploration Institute in Kyiv hosted an event that was extremely important for geologists: the scientific and methodological seminar “Geological Monuments of Ukraine” organized and conducted by the Department of Geological Services of the State Committee of Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ukrainian State Geological Exploration Institute, Nadra Group, Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

This regional conference was organized by the European Bureau of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Geological Survey of America (GSA) with the organizational support of the Czech Geological Survey (CGS) and was held at the Prague Convention Center on October 10 - 13 this year.

On 13-15 May 2005, the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, at the initiative of the Geological Faculty, hosted the second international scientific-practical conference "Earth Energy, its Geological and Ecological Manifestations, Scientific and Practical Use" dedicated to the100th anniversary of the birth of Academician V.G. Bondarchuk. Among the organizers of the conference were Institutes of the Geological Profile of NASU, State Geological Service, and Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

Calgary hosted the annual convention, scientific conference and industrial exhibition of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and, most importantly, the first in the Western Hemisphere conference on oil origin under the auspices of the most renowned Association of Petroleum Geologists.

On September 12-16, Gurzuf hosted the VI International Conference "Crimea-2005: Geodynamics, Seismicity, and Oil & Gas Content of the Black Sea-Caspian Region" The Conference organizers include the Ukrainian Association of Geologists, the European Association of Geo-scientists and EAGE Engineers.

Representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists participated in the Baku Conference devoted to the geology and oil & gas content of the Caspian and Black Seas.

In November 2005, the Ukrainian Association of Geologist hosted the AAPG representatives. The AAPG President Peter Rose and the European Region President John Brooks paid an official visit to Kyiv.

Dr. Rose delivered a lecture on "Reducing the risk of oil and gas exploration through the introduction of systematic risk analysis (based on the experience of international corporations in the 1900s)" in the Assembly Hall of the Teacher's House. The lecture was attended by about 120 employees of the Ukrainian oil and gas industry. Then a lively discussion took place as the problem of risks during the exploration and development of oil and gas fields was very urgent in Ukraine.

For the first time ever, Ukraine hosted the V International Symposium initiated by the European Association for the Conservation of the Geological Heritage (PROGEO). The Ukrainian Association of Geologists was among the organizers of the event, which took place in Kyiv and Kamianets-Podilskyi.

On 3-4 October 2006, the Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine hosted the VII Congress of the Ukrainian Mineralogical Society. The congress was held partly at the expense of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Ukrainian Association of Geologists".

On April 15 - 18, Yalta hosted the international conference "Ti - 2007 in the CIS", organized by the Interstate Association Titan, which brings together enterprises, research and design institutions from the CIS countries in the field of research, mining and processing of titanium raw materials. The representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists were among the participants.

The second international symposium on the Neogene system of Central and Southeast Europe took place in Kapfenstein, Austria.

The traditional Crimean conference devoted to geodynamics, tectonics and fluid dynamics of the Black and Caspian Sea region has somewhat expanded its format and attracted all oil and gas regions of the country but narrowed it regionally, excluding the Caspian region.

The organizers of the conference are the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the International Charitable Fund "Ukrainian Family", the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Rivne Regional State Administration, the Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

The regular conference of the European branch of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists took place in Athens.

The Ukrainian Association of Geologists congratulates the anniversary celebrant! On 4-6 March 2008, the Faculty of Geology hosted the international conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the distinguished professor of the University, honored geologist of Ukraine, honored worker of science and technology of Mykhailo Tolstoi.

The state of the study of various types of mineralization in the ocean, the results of determining the chemical and mineral composition and nature of the distribution of potential ocean ores, ways to solve technological problems of extracting useful components therefrom, environmental risks of developing new types of ores, legal issues of the development of oceanic ores, this is an incomplete list of topics discussed at the international congress Shaping the Future Deep-Sea Minerals and Mining (DSMM), which took place in March 2008 in Aachen (Germany). Among the conference participants were members of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

On 16-17 April 2008, Kyiv hosted the International Conference "Problems of the Stratigraphy of the Coal System", which was organized by the Ukrainian Association of Geologists and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding geologist, stratigraphist, paleontologist, coal system expert, professor of the National University of Kyiv Olherd Einor.

On 19-22 May 2008 Simferopol hosted a regular meeting of Ukrainian paleontologists and their colleagues from foreign countries, which was organized by the Ukrainian Paleontological Society of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where the main personnel of the paleontologists of Ukraine is concentrated, and the Vernadsky Taurida National University.

On 24-28 May 2008, Kyiv hosted the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “New Technologies and Techniques for the Exploration of Oil and Gas Wells. Information support for exploration and production”

On 26- 29 August 2008, Lviv hosted the VII European Coal Conference. Its organizers included: Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of NAS of Ukraine (Lviv), Institute of Geological Sciences of NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv), "Zahidukrgeologiya"of NJSC ‘Nadra Ukrayny’ (Lviv) with the support of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Coal industry of Ukraine, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine, NJSC ‘Nadra Ukrayny’, All-Ukrainian public organization "Ukrainian Association of Geologists"

Traditionally, the conference is organized in different places. The seventh conference was held on September 15-19, 2008 in Yerevan with the efforts of the State Engineering University of Armenia, Department of Mineral Resources Management and Metallurgy. Among the participants were members of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

On 01-04 October 2008, the Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics named after M.S. Polyakov of NAS of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk hosted the Fifth International Scientific and Practical Conference "Methane of Coal Deposits of Ukraine", which was attended by representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

The conference was held on16-17 October 2008 in Kyiv. Organizers of the conference were the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the International Charitable Foundation "Ukrainian Family", the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Rivne Regional State Administration, and the Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

The Ukrainian Association of Geologists participated in the Second Kyiv Security Forum, held in Kyiv on November 6-7, 2008. The event was organized by the Open Ukraine Foundation under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

On 20-22 May 2009, Kharkiv hosted a scientific and technical conference "UkrNDIgas as scientific support of gas production in Ukraine", dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Institute. More than 80 delegations attended the conference with a total number of about 300 people.

On 2-9 September 2009, Odesa hosted for the fifth time the seminars of the International School of Earth's Sciences (Project I.S.E.S. - International School of Earth's Sciences). Classes are conducted by leading world experts in the field of Earth's sciences. On behalf of the Board of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists, L.F. Gafych delivered a welcoming speech.

KyivExpoPlaza hosted the International Forum "Innovations and Technologies of Higher Quality", one of the largest integrated innovation events in Ukraine, combining a business program and an exposition part. The Geologist of Ukraine Magazine was an information partner of the event.

The International Symposium on Amber Production and Processing in Sambia was held on May 12-14. The symposium was attended by about one hundred scientists from Belarus, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine. All participants are leading experts, professionals in the field of geology, mineralogy and paleogeography of fossil resins, biological inclusions in amber, art processing and aesthetics of sunstone, history of amber production and archeological findings of amber products.

On 28 September - 01 October 2010, KyivExpoPlaza hosted the International Forum "Innovations and High Technologies", organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the State Committee of Ukraine for Science, Innovation and Informatics, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Agency of Ukraine for Investment and Development and Marketing Research Laboratory LLC. It has become the only large-scale comprehensive innovation forum in Ukraine that has combined the business program with the exposition part. The Geologist of Ukraine Magazine was an information sponsor of the event.

The Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics named after M.S. Poliakov in Dnipropetrovsk hosted the 6th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Methane of Coal Deposits of Ukraine" on 6 - 8 October 2010. The conference is traditionally held every two years.

On 16-20 May 2011, the Kamianets-Podilsky National Pedagogical University named after Ivan Ogienko hosted a scientific and practical conference "Geological monuments - vivid evidence of Earth's evolution" held on the initiative of the Department of Geology Museum of the National Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and with the support of the National Natural Park (NNP) Podilsky Tovtry.

The scientific meetings took place at the premises of the Institute of Zoology, located on the river Meuse in Liege.

The Ukrainian Association of Geologists was represented at the International Amber Researcher Symposium “Amber. Deposits - Collections - the Market” held in Gdansk, Poland

The VI Congress of Geologists brought up the issue of introducing EU standards in Ukraine for the efficient and balanced use of energy, mineral, water and land resources.
