Traditionally, the conference is organized in different places. The seventh conference was held on September 15-19, 2008 in Yerevan with the efforts of the State Engineering University of Armenia, Department of Mineral Resources Management and Metallurgy. Among the participants were members of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

The conference topics raised the following issues:

  1. Resource-based technologies for the development of mineral resources and the formation of technogenic deposits.
  2. Environmental technologies for the development of mineral deposits.
  3. Integrated use of mineral resources and minerals.
  4. Burial and conversion of liquid waste in the lithosphere, geoecology.

The working sections were in line with the theme of the conference. Geologists and developers took an active part in its work. The participants of the conference have noted that due to the growth of the population of our planet, the degree of negative human impact on the biosphere is steadily growing. In addition, the past of the 20th century is characterized by high rates of energy consumption growth, while traditional energy resources are not unlimited. Therefore, today it is necessary to search and develop fundamentally new strategies for the development of natural raw materials and the development of environmental technologies.
