The III International Scientific Conference "Geology of fossil fuels: Achievements and Prospects" dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of A. Radzivill was held at the Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on September 2-5, 2019.


Organizers of the conference: Institute of Geological Sciences of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, State Institution Scientific Center for Mining Geology, Geoecology and Infrastructure Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the TUTKOVSKY International Hub of Natural Resources, Public organization Ukrainian Association of Geologists.

  • Tectonics and stratigraphy of coal and hydrocarbon basins
  • Lithological and geochemical characteristics of coal and oil and gas deposits
  • Study of hydrocarbon deposits of traditional and non-traditional types

  • Environmental aspects of the extraction of fossil fuels

Director of the Institute of Geological Sciences of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine P. Gozhik addressed a welcoming speech to the conference participants.

President of the Public organization Ukrainian Association of Geologists P. Zagorodnyuk congratulated the conference participants and presented awards to the employees of the National Academy of Sciences.

For significant contribution to the development of geological science received the following awards:

Medal "For Outstanding Merit" named after Academician P. Tutkovsky – Volodymyr Kobolev, Doctor of Geological Sciences, professor, one of the founders of the Tutkovsky Institute; Medal “For Merit" of I degree – Vyacheslav Lukinov, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits, National Technical University "Dnipro Polytechnic"; Medal «For Merit», II degree - Lyudmila Zaitseva, senior researcher at the Institute of Geological Sciences of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine of Ukraine; Medal "For Merits" of the III degree – Myron Kovalchuk, Doctor of Geological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Lithology, Institute of Geological Sciences of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Medal “For Merit” III degree – Volodymyr Grytsenko, candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences, head of the department of geology of the National Museum of Natural History of Ukraine The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Pavlo Zagorodnyuk’s report was called platform of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists «The Implementation of the Provisions of the Association Agreement Between Ukraine and the European Union on the Effective and Balanced Use of Natural Resources» - an invitation to cooperate.

By the beginning of the conference, Materials of the III international scientific conference “Geology of fossil fuels: Achievements and Prospects” were published.

About 100 people took part in the conference.

September 4, 2019 in the framework of the III International Scientific Conference " Geology of fossil fuels: Achievements and Prospects "dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of A. Radzivill, with the assistance of the PO "Ukrainian Association of Geologists", an excursion to Korsun-Shevchenkovsky took place. On the way to Korsun-Shevchenkovsky, the excursion participants admired the local landscapes under the comprehensive, professional story of V. Bezvynnyi on the geological structure, the history of geological development and minerals of the route and the Korsun-Novomirgorod pluton in particular. In Korsun-Shevchenkovsky, the participants of the excursion visited the inter-district hydroelectric power station and the park-monument of landscape gardening art of national importance. The tour was conducted by N. Vergelska. Traveling through the park, the participants of the excursion admired the colors of autumn, a harmonious combination of nature and landscape design. Numerous islands, granite outcrops in the channel and banks of the Ros river, granite beaches, chestnut of Taras Shevchenko, Yantalka mountain, Yan and Natalka fountain, Rusalkin spring, suspension bridge, etc. made a lasting impression on the sightseers. The participants exchanged impressions from the conference and the tour during a friendly dinner.
